The
Doll Treasure Chest stands 14" tall, is 9" deep (from
front to back) and is 15" wide.
It
has solid oak handles and maple feet.
The
basic box is constructed of white pine and Luan and is decorated
with brass tacks across the top and down the front and rear.
The
chest has a wallpaper border decorating the inside of the lid
and a co-ordinating wallpaper, lining the bottom portion of the
chest.
The
lid is usually held open with a co-ordinating ribbon that could
easily be substituted with a brass plated chain if requested.
Finishes
For
the
antique
dolls
we recommend the following finishes:
antique
flat white,wine
(burgundy)or navy blue paint with a black walnut stain
rubbed into a sanded "distressed" surface to give it
that old "rich" color.
The small drawer
will hold small clothing articles.
The left side of
the cabinet is large enough to hold an American Doll.
And the right side
of the cabinet has a bar to hang clothes.
The colors that you
see here are Grape Ice and Barbie Pink.
We do make the American
Doll Cabinets in a more subdued Nave, Wine Antique White and
Black. Each of them hand rubbed with a Black Walnut Stain to
give it that old look.
Here
are some samples of the combinations for the Doll Treasure Chests:

The "Girls"
border can also be used for a different look.

decorate the bottom portion of the chest.

A white chest
with the "Tea Party" border can be used for a little
girls room.
Usually the chest is painted with a gloss white or "barbie"
pink paint similar to the ribbon on this chest.
